In December 2014 I was the photographer for an event held at the Olde Towne School for Dogs to raise funds for the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. This was my 5th year as photographer for this event. Wow. What a great event! Carlos, Sandy and their team at the OTSFDs are amazing along with the staff at AWLA. We took over 250 photo sessions. My face hurt from smiling so much… but this happens every year! I love this event. Here are a fews of my favs!

Shelter Puppy, Photography by a DC Pet Photographer
I volunteered with the Washington Humane Society for several years. I photographed animals for the shelter’s web site. I loved volunteering. And now I am a professional Pet Photographer and I could not be more happy with my chosen profession. I find so much satisfaction capturing the essence of the animal I am photographing. And these moments are forever saved via images and prints. Pet Photography is a unique gift that one can receive for their birthday, anniversary, wedding, Christmas, Hanukkah etc. So give the present of Pet Photography. Search for Pet Photographers in your area and choose one based on the image style you like. My style can be summed up as follows: playful, spontaneous, and natural. I concentrate my efforts on close ups, action shots, and capturing the love between the pet and owner. The final images will be a mix of color and black & whites.
Shelter Animals From My Past, Photography by an Arlington Pet Photographer
A few months ago Olde Towne School for Dogs asked me to display some of my work. I was deeply honored to do so! I enjoyed going through my archive and choosing images. Some of these date back to 2007, the year I stared taking pictures for the Washington Humane Society. Here are a few that you can see on the walls at the Olde Towne School for Dogs.

Lots of Love for Potok! Photography by an Arlington Pet Photographer
This session was done indoors but we used loads of natural light by positioning ourselves next to a set of french doors. Potok (the cat) had a mind of his own but was lovely to work with. I was also blushing because Potok’s mom is a photographer… and that is a big compliment to be hired by a fellow photographer!
A Gift For Her Husband! Photography by an Arlington Pet Photographer
This session was a surprise birthday gift for her husband. We had a great time finding spots in the puppy area of the Shirlington Dog Park. As you can see I had beautiful subjects to work with. The images translated beautifully in both color and black & white.
A Birthday Present For Her Boyfriend! Photography by a Falls Church Pet Photographer
This session was a surprise birthday present for her boyfriend! We choose a spot for the photo shoot with lots of green space and natural terrain. Some of my favorite “relationship” images are from this session. I was ablate to capture the essence of her (her hair etc) with the dog. I am a stereotypical girl… I tend to dislike most pictures of myself. Yet I found I like the ones that show parts of me… ones that have just my hair…. or the side of my face looking at a loved one etc.
Yappy Hour! Photography by an Old Town Pet Photographer
What a lovely hot summer evening. Some friend and I went to a Yappy Hour held every Tuesday and Thursday evening, during the summer, in Old Town. To this dog person… this event is awesome. I am already looking forward to next summer!
Kittens! Photography by a DC Pet Photographer
Wow! How fun is this. Two kittens….. in a beautiful room with tons of natural light. My nephews are now the owners of a couple of playful kittens. I had a great time lying on the floor and shooting away!
